One pre-season game down, with two more to go, and the ice hockey campaign is just around the corner, this weekend Wild welcomes a home and away double header games both against The Lookers of Yardley Solihull Barons.
With weeks of rigorous intense training assisted by Mark Gillingham, Richard Charles and led by head coach Scott McKenzie this will be the Wild’s last chance to smooth out the wrinkles and putting their practice to the test before the season officially starts.
Tomorrow, the Wild will welcome the Barons to the silver blades rink, taking on the current Laidler league champions who hope to continue their winning streak. A tough challenge for Wild, for a chance to put an end to Barons two seasons unbeaten run and what will be an exciting and passionate ice hockey game from both teams with face off at 17:30, and doors opening at 16:30.
The following evening, the Wild will be on the road, flying south to Solihull Barons home ice at the Blue Ice Plaza for an 18:30 face off, this will be the last time the Wild will grace the ice of Barons this season with them being promoted to the Moralee league, for those who want to go the coach details have been announced on the Wild Facebook page.
This will also be the launch for the Barons captain, Rob Eley testimonial season “19 for 19” with the money raised will be going to the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust Charity and The Willows Foundation, and any donation will be welcome, also follow the campaign on twitter @19for19
Ticket prices for the home game are £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, season ticket holders will be able to attend as part as their season ticket.
